After the release of "Barbie," directed, produced, and co-written by Greta Gerwig, the movie became the highest trending film of the summer &ndash; and for good reason. It broke records, becoming the highest-grossing film at the box office for a female director, raking in over 1.3 billion dollars worldwide and counting. The movie boasts an all-star cast including Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Issa Rae, America Ferrera, and Will Ferrell, among many others.
For those of us still diagnosed with a severe case of Barbie fever, it might be time to seek out more content directed by Gerwig to help pass the time as we eagerly await Barbie's arrival on streaming platforms. From acting to writing to directing, Gerwig has left her mark in various Hollywood roles.

Co-written alongside Noah Baumbach, Gerwig stars in the black-and-white dramatic comedy "Frances Ha," which follows the life of a struggling dancer named Frances Halladay (Gerwig). From her ups and downs with her best friend Sophie (Mickey Sumner) to hopping from one job to another to make rent, it's a film about identity, self-discovery, and the realities of growing up.

"Mistress America'' is a comedy co-written by Baumbach and Gerwig, starring Gerwig and Lola Kirke. This 2016 film tells the true story of First Lady Jackie Kennedy (portrayed by Natalie Portman) following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Gerwig portrays Jackie's close friend and secretary, Nancy Tuckerman. "Jackie" provides an insightful glimpse into the struggles Jackie faced after her husband's assassination, her journey of perseverance, and her contribution to shaping her husband's legacy.

Directed and written by Gerwig, "Lady Bird" stars Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf. Perhaps one of Gerwig's most well-known films to date &ndash; alongside "Barbie" &ndash; and the first film she is an executive producer of, "Little Women" features an all-star cast including Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Emma Watson, Eliza Scanlen, and Timoth&eacute;e Chalamet. A cinematic adaptation of a classic novel, the film tells the story of four sisters in the years following the Civil War, addressing themes of family, identity, and truth. It's a masterful adaptation of a timeless tale, receiving five Oscar nominations and four BAFTA nominations (with a win at both ceremonies).
