Maria Grazia Chiuri&rsquo;s latest collection was her ode to courageous femininity.

Dior returned to its archive pieces for inspiration in this collection, reinterpreting garments from shows past to manifest Maria Grazia Chiuri&rsquo;s powerful feminine muse. Working from the cut of the &ldquo;Amazone&rdquo; dress from autumn-winter 1951-1952 in particular for inspiration. The collection focused on the connection between the wearer and the clothes, returning to the idea that the body and the garment work together &ndash; a sort of return to harmony. Coming off of the Olympics there were references to sportswear throughout the collection, what better way to show how clothing can work for its wearer? Lace up knee-high sneakers paired with fringed bodysuits came down the runway alongside dresses seemingly made for Grecian goddesses. During the show Sagg Napoli, Italian artist and competitive archer, shot arrows at a target behind a glass wall. The act underlined Chiuri&rsquo;s central theme, showcasing femininity in power and taking inspiration from archetypes of mythic feminine heroes. At the event Chiuri reiterated her inspiration: &ldquo;Myths tell us you have to renounce your femininity to be strong and to be right&rdquo;.
